Thanks to the £1m+ in kind #donations we received in our recent Hampshire Medical Fund “Dig Deep” emergency #fundraising campaign, one of the many pieces of #medicalequipment we have been able to buy is the GE Healthcare Vivid IQ #ultrasound scanner and cardiac probe for our #cardiology team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. (This is equipment not covered by the Trust’s NHS budget). In use all day, this machine is capable of carrying out 2,500+ scans each year, from cardiac echo scans, to stress echo scans, which identify patients with angina who may be at risk of heart attack. Being portable, this allows Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust Cardiologist Dominic Kelly (pictured below left) to carry out his one stop heart failure clinic at our 3 hospitals in #Andover, #Winchester and #Basingstoke.
