When we at Hampshire Medical Fund launched our Dig Deep emergency #fundraising campaign via email to our supporters back in March, little did we know that 3 weeks later, we would have raised over £1,000,000. Not quite as good as Captain (now Colonel) Tom, but still…

In consultation with our Chief Medical Officer, Lara Alloway, we prioritised any equipment on our 2020 Wishlist, which the staff of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust needed there and then.

One of the pieces we purchased was the hand held #echocardiogram machine, supplied by GE Healthcare. See accompanying pictures of a fully PPE suited Laura Corsinovi brandishing one of these amazing devices.

The Vscan Extend is used to scan #COVID patients. They are easy to carry and to clean and highly regarded by our consultants, in providing rapid bedside investigations.

There was at least one incident when a hand held echocardiogram machine saved a COVID patient’s life because it saved crucial time.

It’s a privilege and an honour to be in a position to support our front line heroes with best in class medical equipment. None of which could we do without our amazing donors.
